Overwhelm. Confusion. Loneliness. Frustration. Exhaustion.
Am I reading your mind?
You’re a stay-at-home mom and most days leave you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, exhausted, and everything in between. Girllll, I get it. I became a stay-at-home mom at the age of 20 and I thought I knew everything. Ha! Oh young Abby, how wrong you were; there is so much that goes into being a stay-at-home mom and it can get kind of discouraging and draining when you don’t know how to do it all.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be given concrete steps to rock your life as a stay-at-home mom?
Instead of spending hours upon hours scouring Pinterest and Google for articles to help you out and not finding anything that helps you get some control over that monster overwhelm, wouldn’t be nice to have everything laid out nicely for you in easy to follow steps that keep you motivated and encouraged?
I didn’t even know what to search for on Pinterest and Google. The few things I could come up with didn’t really help me find what I needed because they were either too vague or didn’t get down to the root of the problem. What I really needed some something that could guide me through exactly what a stay-at-home mom is and help me to figure out how to do it all.
The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Life is your handbook to becoming a rockstar stay-at-home mom.
After a few years of being a stay-at-home mom and countless hours searching through Pinterest and watching Youtube videos, I finally figured out what it takes to be a rockstar stay-at-home mom. I’m definitely not perfect, just the thought of that makes me laugh, but all of the systems that I have put into place, help get back on track when things start to go a little haywire.
Everything I learned, I put into my signature course The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Life.
Within the 7 sections of the course are all of the tools you need to rock your role as a stay-at-home mom.
I won’t say that I’ve “mastered” every section of this course, because I don’t think that’s possible for any woman to do, but I once a became intentional in each of the areas covered in the course, not only did my life change for the better, but our entire home improved.
I’m going to help you be intentional as well!
The Stay-at-Home Mom’s Guide to Life is an online course that uses videos, workbooks, and blog post-style articles to guide you through your role as a stay-at-home mom.
Here is what you will do in each section:
1 // Introduction
Beyond just saying, “Hey!” I will go over what it means to be a stay-at-home mom and I’ll help you understand your responsibilities and priorities. This is vital to laying solid groundwork for your stay-at-home mom life.
> You will figure out what your priorities are and how to create intentions to live by.
> Once you’re intentions are written out, you can then create a family mission statement.
2// Routines + Time Management
The biggest way to conquer overwhelm is to get ahead of it by having routines in place and by understanding how to best manage your time at home.
> You will create a daily routine and master making a to do list as well as get tips for managing your time well.
Proverbs 12:1 lays it out pretty clearly for us, “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.” My husband and I struggled to find ways to parent and discipline our three-year-old; he is hyper, stubborn, and has ADHD tendencies. We are far from being perfect parents but we have picked up a few tools along the way that I feel called to share with you.
> You will gain the tools you need to be more patient your kiddos.
> You will understand why it is important to parent as a team and how to do just that.
4// Running the Home
Another term for “stay-at-home mom” is “homemaker” so you will get into the nitty-gritty of homemaking in this section.
> You will create a cleaning routine to keep your home (mostly) tidy, you will learn how to menu plan (my fave!!), and you will be excited to practice hospitality. In-between all of that, I’ll show you what the Bible has to say about everything a homemaker does.
5// Affording to be a Stay-at-Home Mom
When I first created this course, I sent out a survey to stay-at-home moms and just about every single mama said that they needed to find ways to cut their budget or make extra money so they could afford to continue being a stay-at-home mom. Going down to one income is tough, trust me, I know, but there are plenty of tricks to making it work.
> You will feel encouraged if you are feeling stressed about living on a tight(er) budget.
> I’ll share the budgeting tools that my husband and I have used and currently use.
> You will find ways you can cut your budget.
> You will be inspired to do a few things to bring in some extra money.
6// Community + Friendship
Most of the new moms that I talk to tell me they feel like they are alone or they feel like they don’t have a good mom friend to confide in. I understand! When I was 20 and had a brand-new baby boy, all of my friends were in college, most of them out-of-state. Four years later, I’ve kicked loneliness out of my house and I have learned how to get out of my shell to make some amazing mom friends. While it’s important to have close friends, it’s even more important to have a community around you. My husband and I have an amazing community supporting us and I want to help you have the same!
> I will teach you what the Bible has to say in regards to the importance of having community.> You will learn how to survive those dreaded “mom dates” and how to find some wonderful mom friends. (there’s even a quiz or too to help you be an awesome friend!)
7// Hobbies + Self-Care
When moms are feeling overwhelmed, the first thing I ask them is, “Have you taken some time for yourself lately?” Self-care is SO important and I will help you understand why and how to make it happen.
> You will understand why you need to take time for yourself and how to make it happen and what kinds of activities count as self-care time.
> You will learn how to show yourself grace and forgiveness.
> You will be inspired to pick up a hobby after I tell you why hobbies are so vital to staying sane as a stay-at-home mom.
Each section includes videos that will make you feel like you and I are sitting down for coffee and you will receive helpful and fun workbooks (yes, workbooks can be fun!). Some sections even include fun little quizzes!
You can spend a day or a week on each section, work through it at your own pace and do what you need to do to become a rockstar stay-at-home mom
